Noll Billings and Irie Groves

This past weekend was the first golf tournament of the season at Kennett Country Club. Although Spring hasn’t been quite as nice this year as last, nor come as early, but it was a good tournament regardless.

Other than two great days of golf, the other highlight was the Saturday night entertainment: Noll Billings / Irie Groves. Noll is originally from Kennett and a great musician/singer/songwriter. He and the band gave a great performance Saturday night and closed the club down around midnight. Not your typical redneck, southern-rock band like you may normally find in Kennett, they play more acoustic-based coffee house style music. The energy of this group is absolutely amazing - Noll has always been a very positive person anytime I’ve been around him, and that energy easily translates into his music. Band members include:

Noll Billings: Lyricist, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Vocals

Danielle Aslanian: Violin, Vocals

Brian Corbett: Percussion

Main Street Paragould

My co-worker Jackie forwarded me the latest newsletter from the Main Street Paragould organization in Paragould, Arkansas. They have a great downtown music festival called Loose Caboose Festival each year in May - it is very rapidly approaching, so I had to give Jackie and Loose Caboose a quick plug.

Find out more about the Loose Caboose festival here…

Lucas Cates Band

So the weekend was a blast.

With two kids, it is sometimes difficult to find time to reconnect with your spouse - but we did have a great Saturday this past weekend. Started off with two good movies, shopping and dinner in Jonesboro. The latter part of our day found us at the 501 Club in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Being a (somewhat active) musician, I find it difficult to pass up the opportunity to go see live music. In recent years, the gigs are fewer and further between than they used to be, so we took the opportunity to have a few drinks and see what was happening with this duo from way up north in Madison, Wisconsin.

The Lucas Cates Band - really the stripped down version of the band in the form of an acoustic duo (Lucas Cates and Kenny Liesner). I didn’t like everything they did, but I really enjoyed the show and support live music/ artists trying to play music for a living - check out their website and see what you think.

First, I apologize for the lack of posts lately. Everyone knows that Christmas is a really busy time at both home and work. Rapid growth of our company has introduced new challenges to handle the increased volume of web traffic and new development.
